Rex Johnson

Rex was born in South Georgia and never left. He was raised on the family farm full of love and Christian values.  After high school, he farmed for a neighbor until he went to work “in town” at a local factory. In 1989, Rex married his wife Pam who was his South Georgia sweetheart. God blessed them with a family who love The Lord beginning with two wonderful sons and later by adding a daughter-in-love and two precious granddaughters.

Rex’s desire of helping people led him into to enter the field of law enforcement. After completing training at ABAC Police Academy, he spent the next twenty years working at Irwin County Sheriff’s Office. During his career in law enforcement, he worked as a foot patrol officer, deputy and in detective and investigator positions. At his retirement, Rex was the Commander of a multi-county drug task force. He led a team of investigators in helping remove drugs and those involved in crimes from the streets.

During his career in law enforcement, he answered the call to ministry and was ordained in 2003. While Rex was pastoring his first church, he was asked to join International Bible Institute to train ministers and leaders in Africa. While making four mission trips into Kenya, Nairobi and Tanzania, Rex had another calling on his life. In 2007, he obeyed The Voice of God and planted a new church in South Georgia. The Lord had given him the vision during a trip to Kenya. Rex shared the vision to several others and Christian Fellowship, Inc (CFI) was born. The church grew from a prayer group of seven people to a congregation of 350. They were able to purchase thirty-five acres of land, build a twenty-two thousand square foot building and completely dept free ministry in six and half years. Rex had a passion to have more knowledge, so he enrolled in Piedmont College of Theology of Georgia, and received his Doctorate Degree in Biblical Studies

After serving Christian Fellowship for thirteen years, Rex felt the call of God again to hand the leadership baton of Christian Fellowship and follow God’s call to another ministry. He currently pastors Bethel Baptist in Ashburn, Georgia where he leads the church and community into deeper relationships with our Lord and Savior. God has allowed his ministry to expand farther north. For the last four years, Rex has led the Wayne Mason Prayer Breakfast in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Rex’s passion is to live a life of loving others like Jesus. He lives by the motto of “don’t keep what you have but give it away’. He believes that a smile, handshake and kind word go a long way in this world to lead others to The Lord.

A Message from Rex Johnson Ministries | Learn to Say Thank You

Learn to say thank you. In the book of 1 Thessalonians,  we are instructed to give thanks in ALL circumstances – this is God’s will for us. As Christians, we have been blessed beyond our expectations. We need to be thankful instead of being boastful. Showing our thankfulness will help grab the attention of those who are not yet saved and point them to Christ. It’s all about what they see in you. So, be thankful to the Lord.
