Prayer, Pancakes and a Divine Connection: The Story of Rex Johnson and World Peace Revival

Prayer, Pancakes and a Divine Connection: The Story of Rex Johnson and World Peace Revival
It started with prayer – and maybe pancakes, too.
Rex Johnson first met our founder, Clyde Strickland, at a weekly prayer breakfast. Rex has been attending this breakfast religiously for the past decade and has been leading the group for the last four years.
“I met brother Clyde around a year ago. He’s been coming to our breakfast, and we started talking everyday. I’d call him about different people I needed prayer for, and he would call me with his own list,” said Rex.
“He started to share about the World Peace Revival and how he wanted to reach people through prayers and was looking for prayer partners. I was very interested. I thought, ‘This is great! It’s uniting people in prayer!’”
Rex started a similar ministry around twelve years ago, Rex Johnson Ministries, that provides daily video devotions through his YouTube channel.
“I would read devotions everyday, but I wanted something to watch. At the time, that didn’t really exist. I thought, ‘Why don’t I start one?’ I had a little camera on my computer; I turned it on, recorded a short devotional, edited it up and put it out there,” said Rex.
He was amazed with how quickly the Lord worked!
“Within a few minutes of uploading, I received a phone call from a man who was just bawling. I didn’t know the number and couldn’t recognize his voice because he was so emotional. He finally settled down and told me that he had been going through a bad time in his life. He said he was up all night praying and begging God to show him something. He needed a word from God,” said Rex.
“He saw my video, and it was the exact word that he needed! He begged me to keep making these videos. Over the years, I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from different people who say that I spoke on something that they needed to hear or that my videos helped them. That’s where it all began, and I’ve kept it up.”
Seeing God move in his own ministry, Rex has been supportive of World Peace Revival since the beginning. He recognized the immense power of prayer and wanted to be a part.
“Prayer is our telephone between man and God. It’s the connection we need for answers and direction. When people ask you to pray for them, you are extending God’s love for them to them,” said Rex.
“Prayer is the one thing that doesn’t separate us in the eyes of God. It’s a connection with our Lord that we can all have and that connects us together. Bringing people together from all different organizations like World Peace Revival does builds unity and shows God’s love and care for one another.”
